  • Managing Editor & Vice President, Digital
  • The Boston Globe

David has played an instrumental role in shaping the digital product and newsroom editorial strategy for The Boston Globe and BostonGlobe.com. He is formerly the Director, Digital, for Global News, overseeing all product, editorial and business development for the GlobalNews.ca network. He is the co-author of “Breaking News: Mastering the Art of Disruptive Innovation in Journalism,” a framework he developed with world-renowned innovation expert and Harvard Business School professor, Clayton M. Christensen. David was the 2012 Martin Wise Goodman Fellow at the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard University, the first digital journalist in Canada selected for this honor. He has been a finalist for the Canadian Journalism Foundation’s Newsperson of the Year. David notes: Due to my highly visible position as the Managing Editor of the Boston Globe, I will not seek publicity nor “campaign” for this position. It would be my absolute honor to serve, but I don’t feel comfortable self-promoting. I hope that this won’t jeopardize my chances of being selected as I would really like to contribute to the organization.
