Karlene Goller

Karlene provides independent, strategic business and legal counseling for global media companies, websites, filmmakers, start-ups, reporters, producers and authors. She is an expert at pre-publication/pre-broadcast review, vetting and content clearance for distribution via all platforms, open records, defamation, privacy, marketing and advertising law, contract negotiation, drafting and enforcement. She teaches Media Law at the University of California, Irvine School of Law. Karlene is the former Los Angeles Times Vice President and Deputy General Counsel. She served as sole content counsel for the Los Angeles Times Media Group for more than 20 years, responsible for the editorial legal affairs of its daily and weekly newspapers, magazines, digital properties and new media.
