This hands-on workshop will introduce you to basic data tools (Google Refine, Excel/Spreadsheets, highcharts.js) by parsing data from the census and elsewhere about race and ethnicity. We’ll discuss the basics of sorting, cleaning and visualizing data as a group. To follow along, you will need a laptop and have Google Refine, Excel and/or Google Spreadsheets and a text editor prepared.
