Charo is the Executive Digital Editor for People en Español, at Time Inc. She began her career in 1996 as a Business reporter for El Nuevo Día, Puerto Rico’s largest daily circulation newspaper. In 2000 she began working online, as a Senior Producer for elnuevodia.com, and later as Multimedia Editor, Digital Program Manager and Associate Digital Business Director within GFR Media. Prior to joining Time, Inc. she was the Innovation Editor of that organization. Charo specializes in content optimization and social media strategy, project management, data journalism and is passionate about innovation in journalism from both content and platform perspectives. She has been a speaker for ONA, NAHJ and the Interamerican Press Society, among others events related to technology and media. She holds a Bachelor in Journalism and Telecommunications, from Universidad del Sagrado Corazón, in San Juan, as well as a Juris Doctor from the University of Puerto Rico.
