Sharif is a homepage editor at The Washington Post and treasurer of the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association. He was the social media editor and a newsroom digital strategist at The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. He's on the board of directors of Unity: Journalists for Diversity and is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists' digital journalism task force.
